The Electric Vehicle (EV) market is undergoing a rapid transformation, as highlighted in our Pitpoint project. In this dynamic landscape, every automobile manufacturer is embracing innovation through apps, tools, and websites to claim a share of this burgeoning market. Among the prominent players, NewMotion has emerged as a leader, boasting the largest charging network in Europe and a wide range of charging services. This case study unveils our pivotal role in revolutionizing EV charging efficiency at home through the strategic design and development of an intuitive app.

 



Challenge:

At NewMotion, the challenge was twofold: leverage the EV market's boom and maximize the potential of home charging. While NewMotion's charging network and services were strong, there was a clear need to empower users with the ability to enhance their home charging experience. This required designing an app that not only simplified the charging process but also aligned it with sustainable practices.



Solution:

Our team undertook the task of conceptualizing, designing, and developing an innovative app that would transform home EV charging into a seamless and eco-friendly endeavor. The central idea was to create an app that provided users with the control to plug in their vehicles, while optimizing charging times based on energy price fluctuations and sustainable energy availability.



Approach:

Wireframing: We initiated the project by meticulously wireframing the app's interface. This phase involved outlining the app's layout, navigation, and key features. The goal was to create an interface that was both user-friendly and visually engaging.

User Testing: Our team engaged in rigorous user testing to ensure that the app's functionality resonated with the intended user base. User feedback was pivotal in fine-tuning the app's design and ensuring a seamless user experience.

User Interface Design: The heart of the project lay in crafting an intuitive user interface. We focused on creating a design that was not only visually appealing but also guided users effortlessly through the app's features. The aim was to make the charging process transparent and user-controlled.
